A Rare Delicacy: Smalahove

Would you like to taste one of Norway’s most unique culinary traditions? We serve smalahove – prepared in the true Western Norwegian style, with mashed rutabaga and potatoes. An experience for both the palate and the history books!

The meal is served in Restaurant Magdalene, where the kitchen follows a seasonal menu and combines international classics with modern interpretations of regional dishes.

Please note that this dish must be ordered at least 48 hours in advance, to allow us to prepare it with the care it deserves.
Smalahove dinners must be ordered for a minimum of two people. Unfortunately, we cannot accept orders for only one person.

At Fleischer’s Hotel, we emphasize locally sourced food, regional ingredients, and traditional recipes. Smalahove is therefore not just a meal, but a culinary experience deeply rooted in local heritage.

Smalahove with Vossakorv
Traditional Western Norwegian dish featuring sheep’s head, served with Vossakorv sausage, mashed rutabaga, and potatoes.
Must be ordered at least 48 hours in advance.
Minimum two people per order. Unfortunately, we cannot accept orders for only one person.
NOK 595,- per person

Pinnekjøtt with Vossakorv
Traditional Western Norwegian dish with salted and dried (sometimes smoked) lamb ribs, served with Vossakorv sausage, mashed rutabaga, and potatoes.
Must be ordered at least 48 hours in advance.
Minimum two people per order. Unfortunately, we cannot accept orders for only one person.
NOK 645,- per person

Smalahove with Vossakorv and Pinnekjøtt
Traditional Western Norwegian dish featuring sheep’s head and salted and dried (sometimes smoked) lamb ribs, served with Vossakorv sausage, mashed rutabaga, and potatoes.
