Events at Fleischer's Hotel

Fleischer's Hotel invites you to come and join us for a number of different experiences throughout the year. Anything from food tastings, local beer tastings and wine & dinner series, to Cognac & Cigar in Eldi, summer time barbecue party on the Terrace, tango lessons in Top Spot, minor concerts in Fredrik's Bar and much more. Below are a handful of events that recur every year.

WINEMAKERS DINNER
Winemakers Dinner is a tailor made evening where a selected winery presents its wines to a menu created especially for the evening. In our fine dining restaurant, Seckman,  we organize wine tasting throughout the year. Skilled sommeliers takes you on an adventure and conveys their knowledge.

BEER TASTING
We arrange beer tasting in Fredrik's Bar all year. It will be offered to taste six different types of locally brewed beer in combination with a variety of cured meat from the area, flat bread and sour cream. We will tell you about beer brewing in Voss, and guide you through the different beer types you will get to taste.

7-COURSES WITH SHEEP - IN SECKMAN
Helge Christie, a well known food critic, invites you to talk about the local food traditions from the west coast of Norway, and the importance of the sheep in our diet. The meal includes a 7-course menu.

SMALAHOVEWEEKEND
Every autumn we at Fleischer's Hotel invite to a weekend where the focus will be on Smalahove ("sheep head"). This is a popular event, and the entertainment varies from year to year.

"LUTEFISK" IN SECKMAN
"Lutefisk" is dried fish, cod or other species, that is soaked in water, then in lye and then in water again. It will be served the traditional way with yellow pea stew, bacon fat and boiled potatoes, mustard and flat bread.

"SKREI" EVENING
"Skrei" is cod that each winter and spring makes spawning migrations in large masses to the Norwegian coast and pasture walks to the central areas of the Barents Sea. "Skrei" is also a term used on the Norwegian Arctic cod. In February 2014 we invited, for the first time, to an evening with cod and traditional garnish in Restaurant Magdalene. This was a very nice event that we would like to arrange again.
